Creating a Gallery Wall Around a TV
Sooo like I mentioned before I’ve made some changes to gallery wall and I wanted to talk a little more in this post about “wrapping” it around the corner TV stand.
I had debated and debated about whether or not I could make the gallery look right going ‘around’ the TV stand since it sits in the corner. I’m a very visual person so I even looked for similar designs on Pinterest, and did find inspiration on Rooms for Rent Blog 🙂 Plus everything Bre does is gorgeous so I highly recommend checking out her blog anyway! Seeing what she did helped to motivate me to go ahead and try it!
This is the awkward corner space I had to work with. While I love rearranging furniture I’m not really able to do that in our living room because of the space, doorway locations, and the general layout of the room. I wanted it to look like the TV was part of the gallery.
Going ‘Around’ the TV
The tricky part was to make it look right from the different angles in the room. I drew a pencil line on the wall where the top of the TV was when you come in the front door so that when I moved the stand to hang stuff I would have a height reference. Then I started working my way down and around the line that I’d drawn. I placed a piece of art I made right above that line knowing it would then be seen above the TV. I didn’t hang anything directly behind the TV, but there are some things that are tucked in close and peeking out.
The change I’ve made that I wanted to share with you is that I copied all my photos in black and white. This basically took a full Sunday afternoon to do by the time I took each one down, copied it, and hung it back up. But as usual with my lil projects it was WORTH it lol! The change was, and I’m sure is, the most noticeable to me.
I also updated some pics too 🙂 I generally like casual snapshots more than posed professionally taken pictures but there’s a mixture of both on my wall. I actually swiped most of the pics from my family’s Facebook pages haha!
Below you can see how it turned out 🙂
Updated Gallery Wall
I LOVE how the gallery wall looks now! It feels more cohesive and purposeful even though each piece is different. I love that it’s more neutral too. I feel like the entire wall just works better and feels more like an art piece. I also think it’s a great example of how you can blend a gallery wall around a television even if it sits in the corner. Never be afraid to try something new or rearrange what you have in a new way! Decorate bravely! And I’ll try to follow that advice too 😉
Thanks so much for checking out our little blog!
