Layered Windows on the Wall

Hey guys!

From the windows to the wall til…..okay just kidding! Lol! Couldn’t resist! Soooo anyways I wanted to share a small project we did in our bedroom a couple weeks ago that I’m completely obsessed with. I’ve been hanging old windows just about everywhere in our home lately but I wanted to do something extra special in this space above our bed. So I decided to take the window idea to the next level and hang dun dun dun multiple windows lol! But instead of just lining them up I wanted to try hanging them so that some (or 1 in this case) were in front of the others to create a layered look.

I picked 3 windows from our stash, figured a way to arrange them, and we got to work on the layered window wall.

And here’s how they turned out!

Hanging Them

We measured, and when I say measured I really mean he held em up and I eyeballed the situation lol, and hung the large windows first. Then we put a screw on the back of the 3rd smaller panel window in the center of the trim. We doubled up some crafting wire and fastened it securely to the screw and left enough extra wire to attach it to a screw in the wall that we centered between the 2 windows. It worked great and I love the results! *Note the holes I still have to patch ha!

Beauty in Simplicity

Old windows on their own are gorgeous. I love the white chippy frames and the reflective quality they bring to a space is not only lovely but also really helps bounce light around. Layering the windows simply brought a bit more interest to the look. This one picture incorporates so much of the clean, simple style I’m drawn to: whites, woods, texture, if only there were some greenery it’d be perfect….. ahh but wait πŸ˜‰
