Slipcovered Dining Chairs

Hey there!

I’ve been SOOO excited to share our new dining chairs with you! But I had to wait because I had ordered 2 and then realized I for sure wanted another 2 and well shipping from Europe takes a little bit but well get to all that! First I just want you to take a look at how pretty they are!

Swoon!

Okay, so now I’ll give ya the scoop! If you remember we used to have 2 metal chairs on one side of our table and a church pew on the other side. If you’re curious you can see what our dining table and chairs used to look like HERE I’d been on a hunt for a new table, and obviously I found one, and I’ll share that whole story with ya soon too, promise! While I was still looking for the table I came across these slip covers from Bemz.

You see my thought or vision for this space is, like the rest of the house, is that I want it to be a combination of cottage and farmhouse, leaning more heavily towards the cottage side of things, but still have a balance there visually. Does that make sense? I love both styles about equally but our home is a sweet little cottage so I really like to play up what’s authentic 😉

In the last few months I’ve tried to eliminate some of the more industrial aesthetics and be more honed in to the styles I truly love. Which meant that I knew I’d be replacing those metal chairs and to incorporate some cottage vibes in this space I kept thinking or textiles. I wanted slipcovered dining chairs that would really soften and fill the space and that’s when I found these babies which did exactly that 😉

Creating Balance

Then I found this table and knew they would be a perfect contrast to the farmhouse feel. I ordered 2 slipcovers to start with because I knew I wanted to replace the metal chairs right away but also because they are cheap and I’m on a budget. After getting them I knew I wanted 2 more for the other side to create a simpler more cohesive look. Also to be honest we rarely used the church pew. It just wasn’t practical because it was so big in the space especially when we would pull it out to sit at it. These chairs are a much better fit.

IKEA + Bemz = L.O.V.E.

Okay so about the slipcovers themselves, you can find them HERE, Bemz is a European company that makes slipcovers to fit IKEA furniture. How fantastic is that?! I love our IKEA sofa and loveseat and swear by slipcovered furniture, but finding Bemz was truly a game changer. They allow you to have many more color, style, and fabric options than what is sold at IKEA.

I was just browsing their site and came across their Henriksdal, chair cover long with frills Loose Fit Country style and I was hooked. I choose the fabric Rosendal Pure Washed Linen Absolute White and I’m obsessed! I did end up finding 15% off coupon code for my first 2 chairs and a 10% off plus free shipping code for the second 2. So definitely watch for those if you’re wanting to order some.

If you already have IKEA furniture that you’d love a new slipcover for or are in the market for some new IKEA furniture, I highly recommend this company. The quality is excellent! Be sure to pay attention to the type or style of furniture you have or need to purchase so that the slipcover will be compatible!

I wasn’t sad we ended up making 2 trips to IKEA for these chairs! Lol! The ones we got are their Henriksdal chairs.

Happy Happy Happy!

I could not be happier with the changes made in this space! The fabric of these slipcovers is such a gorgeous natural flowy linen! I love the casual airy country cottage feel they lend. I also love that we’ve been eating at the table more now that we can easily sit across from one another! Lol!

Thank you so so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you’re having a great one!

XOXO,
