Vlog 1: Meal Prep
Still can’t believe the holidays are over and it’s 2018! I have a feeling this year is going to be great! For the first time this year on New Years Eve I sat down and made a list of goals for myself and I put that list by my bed. May be cheesy but I’m hoping that it helps me stay focused more this year. One of goals under the blog category (yes, I made categories and yes I know I’m a dork) is to start a vlog section of the blog. This will be where I document a part of our life on video to share with y’all. Why? Simply because I thought it would be fun 🙂 It’s just a different media that I want to try out.
Most of the content will focus on stuff were doing around the house but also I want to use the vlog to share other “behind the scenes” aspects of our life. Because it’s the start of the new year I thought I would take you into our kitchen and share something we do every week, meal prepping.
Meal Prep for 1 Week
Breakfast – 2 eggs each day per person and 1 avocado
Snack – almonds, clementines
My lunch – cook 1 pack of chicken tenderloins (season to taste) 3 per day on top of romaine lettuce, side of cottage cheese
Ed’s lunch – cook bison in crock pot season to taste, steamed broccoli
Dinner for both – Romaine lettuce salad with almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, shredded mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and Hendrickson’s Sweet Vinegar and Oil dressing
This is just one week’s example of how we meal prep for a week and every week is different. I prefer fish, nuts, seeds, grains, and the occasional poultry for protein. Whereas Ed prefers red meat of some kind. For me the best part of meal prep, or the most important part is breakfast. There’s no way I’d wake up and cook eggs each morning but eating a healthy/hearty breakfast makes such a difference in my day! I think meal prepping can be done to accommodate your needs whatever they may be. You could meal prep a lot or a little but however much you do is still a time saver for sure. 🙂 I’ll try to do another meal prep video with ya in a few weeks. If you have any questions I’d love to answer them!
I hope you enjoyed this first video! I know I had fun making it but we aren’t professionals by ANY means! So no judgement please! Lol! We’re just figuring things out as we go and we hope you’ll tag along with us!
