Can you believe Fall is upon us?! I know technically it’s at the end of the month, but by September 1st I’m chompin at the bit to start get pumpkins out! That’s because Fall is one of my absolute favs! I really like the times of year where you can start to notice those subtle changes in seasons. The days are getting shorter, the lighting in our house seems different, our clematis is blooming, the cicadas are singing, and the walnuts have started falling. There is certainly a notable shift and I enjoy taking it in ๐Ÿ™‚

Transitioning to a New Season

When I start thinking about decorating for a new season I usually consider 2 things; natural elements and vintage. Which is why I titled this article ‘A Fall Tablescape Combining Nature and Vintage’. This year I felt inspired by a friend’s hydrangeas (which are some of my all time favorites anyway) that had turned a beautiful muted green. So I picked a few…okay more than a few lol and let them dry. Be sure and check out more about our amazing vintage sink HERE!

Drying Hydrangeas for a Simple Fall Tablescape

To dry them I cut the stems long so I could use them for various containers later. Then I removed all the leaves. And that’s it! You can put the stems in a couple of inches of water or just let them dry without any. I obviously had a bunch and since we were going out of town for a few days I just left them in the sink to do their thing. When we got back they were dry and ready for me to use! And I couldn’t wait to put them on our table!

Creating a Fall Tablescape for the Fall Decor Home Tour

To be honest this might be my favorite tablescape I’ve created ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it’s because it incorporates so many of my favorite things. If you follow me on Instagramย then you know I have a little bit of a crock obsession! Ed calls me the crazy crock lady lol! You may also know that I went to an estate auction about a month ago and scored several crocks for $4-$6 each. When I brought them home and set them on the table I knew I wanted to do create a Fall tablescape using them. And I LOVE how it turned out!ย

Where’s Everything From?ย

All the pumpkins are from Hobby Lobby. You can find the white ones HERE. The others I’m not seeing online but should be found in stores. Y’all know that I love textiles and one of my favorite parts of this tablescape is the natural linen napkins which you can find below. ย Everything else on the table is vintage ๐Ÿ™‚ ย I was so excited to incorporate my recent Ironstone plates and really dig the mismatched look!

More Special Tablescape Components

I wanted something to warm up the space because Fall definitely makes me think of warmer tones. I was so happy to find all the antique brass candlesticks at a local antique store for $15 and then I felt the pears added another perfectly warm natural Fall touch ๐Ÿ™‚ Also this jute rug does a great job of anchoring and warming the space, plus it’s very budget friendly! You can find it through the link below!

Styling Shelves for a Fall Blog Hop

You know I love shelf styling! Tweaking and rearranging the open shelves in our dining area is like a type of therapy for me! I’m always excited to add in and play with my favorite vintage treasures along with some natural seasonal touches as well! You can read more about these shelves HERE.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour of my home! Creating a beautiful tablescape doesn’t have to mean spending a bunch of money. Nature provides the best inspiration there is so look outside for things you can bring in. Or check the market for in season fruits and veggies to incorporate! Secondly, being creative with vintage items I already have is one of my favorite design tricks because the results are usually more original ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t wait to share more of this season’s decor with you! I also can’t wait to sit down and enjoy dinner in this lovely space surrounded by people we love. Because that’s what I feel this season is all about after all ๐Ÿ™‚

Now you absolutely have to head on over to my sweet friend Kelly’s amazing home at City Girl Meets Farm Boy blog for even more Fall inspo!

Take care and happy decorating for Fall!
