So except for the ceiling light fixture, & I’ll explain why later, our bedroom redo is just about a wrap. I’ve decided to share the all details with you in a little mini bedroom reveal series started with the bed. If you read the article where I shared the mood board & some ideas I had for the space then you already have an idea of what to expect 😀 I’ll link that article for you HERE in case you’d like to take a look.
For me the hardest decision in this whole process was choosing the bed. In most bedrooms the bed is a huge focal point anyway, but because ours is a smaller room it felt even more vital to get this one right. And let me just be honest with you, there are times when I can be quite indecisive 😂! I basically considered every style imaginable & took my time narrowing them down. But one thing I knew was that I wanted it to be a piece of furniture that stood the test of time. Which basically meant that I didn’t want to look at it a year from now & wonder “what was I thinking?”
I would have loved to find a queen sized antique bed but they’re harder to come by. Then one day in my search on Pinterest I came across a pic of a bed that Liz Marie (if you don’t know her you should! 😉) had shared of this gorgeous Magnolia bed from their collection at Value City Furniture & from that moment I couldn’t get it out of my head.
Christmas in July
So Ed & I drove to take a look at this bed & they didn’t have any in stock. In fact we’re told that they will no longer be carrying that line. I was devastated! 😩 But then they said there was a slight chance they would still have some at the warehouse & if so they’d be on sale. Turned out they still had some available & they were 40% off! I decided to take a chance & order the bed without ever seeing it in person, which was a bit nerve-racking. However, when Ed brought the Magnolia bed home a couple days later it was like Christmas morning! 😜
The bed turned out to be AMAZING! It was all that I was hoping for & more! I love the classic poster style with the shiplap farmhouse detail is just perfect! The stain color of the wood really makes it feel authentically aged too. I was really impressed by the quality of the bed. It’s a solid, heavy, piece of furniture. So thank you very much Magnolia Homes for teaming up with Value City Furniture just briefly enough for me to find this beauty!
I know this bed is one we will enjoy for years to come! I’m grateful I waited until I found just exactly what I was looking for because it was worth the wait!
I also wanted to take a second & tell you that I happen to be writing this article on my birthday which also happens to be the blog’s birthday 😊 She’s 1 year old & going strong! I just want to say if you’ve in any way helped or encouraged me along this journey from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! You’re wonderful & it means the world!
Ps. Ed bought me a fantastic camera for my birthday which is attributed to the much higher quality pictures in this article & hopefully many more to come!
