Hi guys!
First of all I want to say sorry that I haven’t kept to my weekly post schedule as closely! Summer is a busy time for everyone, us included. Which means lots of projects & prospective article topics, I just have to find the time to sit still long enough to write them! Lol!
Anyway, I’ve done a bit more landscaping, or at least an attempt to 😉 believe me I know I’m no pro! But I’m trying & that’s what counts, right? So as I said before I’ve started with an idea & then tried to look for easy to care for plants that meet my preferences. This post is only about our front yard because our backyard is a MESS right now lol! We tore the deck off over a month ago & then between rainy weekends & other projects we haven’t started building the new one yet, but my fingers are crossed it’ll start soon!!! Then I can share, share, share!
Bushes, Shrubs, & Plants Oh My!
Here are a few pics of some plants I chose & have thus far kept alive 🙂 All of the plants below were bought at Lowe’s.
I love this little blueish guy! I hoping it really fills up this little flower bed as ground cover!
This was the first flowering plant I’ve ever had, & it’s my absolute favorite! It’s name even sounds yummy! 😉
Just like inside my house I prefer texture over color for sure & felt both these bushes were a perfect fit here. As you can see I kept it really simple & minimal. I added black mulch to freshen up the beds & it made ALL the difference! The suitcase was made by yours truly too. I just saw they’re running a sale right now 5 bags for $10 I’ll add a link HERE for you 🙂
I planted the bigger bush & shrubs 2 years ago. One is a Emerald Green Arborvitae Screening Shrub & the other is a White Dwarf English Boxwood, which looks to be on sale as well now too.
Last but not least I added this sweet little Plantain Lily to the other flower bed 🙂
On the Porch
This is the third year these sweet little succulents have come back & some of them stay all year round!
I really liked the softness of these plants offer both visually & literally they’re so soft lol! The basket came from Lowe’s also.
The Clematis Are Still Alive!!Â
I also thought I’d give y’all an update on the Sweet Autumn Clematis. I’m happy to report that they are thriving! Some have grown/climbed more that 6 ft already & I’m so thrilled!
I hope you’re having an awesome summer & filling your homes inside & out with beautiful things that make you happy!
XOXO
