Budget Friendly Window Treatments
Hope you’re doing well! I thought I’d take a minute to share with you a breakdown of my super budget friendly window treatments. Honestly budget friendly really isn’t even true, they’re down right cheap lol!
One thing I was attracted to when we first looked at our home is its abundance of large windows. Then when we moved in I realized how expensive it could potentially be to dress them. At the time I was on a miniscule budget so I shopped around…a lot.
I decided I wanted plain white drapes or curtains with a black curtain rod, simple and neutral. I finally found curtains that I was happy with at IKEA. They’re the right length, or at least long enough to go from above the trim down to the floor, which was long enough for me, especially for the cost. I was stunned when I read the tag and saw they only cost $5 per panel. They have kind of a linen-esk look to them, which I love.
You can find those curtains HERE.
As you can see in the picture above they’re semi sheer which I was also okay with, but decided I needed a bit more privacy once I got them home so I decided to do some kind of blind with them. In the meantime I was also still hunting for an affordable black curtain rod that had the simple look I wanted. I came across some the blinds which are bamboo matchstick blinds that I liked at Lowe’s. They run about $15 each for the size I needed for the majority of the windows in my home. Prices vary depending on what size you need but they’re still very affordable. I literally put them in every room except our bathroom because I love the texture and warmth the add.
You can find a link to the blinds HERE. But I believe they offer more of a selection in stores 🙂
Then while picking up some toilet paper and laundry detergent from Dollar General I spied some super cheap simple looking black curtain rods that were exactly what I was looking for! They cost $5 each!! I couldn’t pass up the deal and bought all the store had. Then went back for more when they restocked lol! Check your local dollar store!
I literally did each window for right around $30!! How insane!! Man I love a good deal! That being said, I may upgrade in the future. I would like the curtains to hang much higher and for them to puddle on the floor below instead of just reaching it. So I’ve been keeping my eye out for the next bargain! Stay tuned and good luck finding deals for your home!!
