Cozy Neutral Christmas Living Room

Happy holidays!

So glad you stopped by the blog today! Welcome to a tour of our cozy neutral Christmas living room!

Decking the Halls

Usually I bring up all the Christmas totes and boxes from the basement and in a weekend our home in completely transformed for the holidays. However, this year was different. I decorated for Christmas s-l-o-w-l-y and savored every singe minute 🙂 And I also decided to keep it neutral, natural, cozy, and very simple. We love how it turned out and I hope you do too!

Natural Greenery

I went with almost all natural greenery this year. This included the wreaths, greenery in the crocks, and garland on the cupboard. I’m obsessed with it ALL! It smells amazing and nothing beats the look of real greenery! I wrote all about what I purchased HERE. Lots of the greenery throughout our home was free too. We simply used some clippings from evergreen trees 🙂

Vintage Touches on the Coffee Table

I spotted this vintage green tool box at an antique shop and knew it would be perfect here for the holidays and really year round. I bought this potpourri last year at World Market and it still smells amazing! It makes the perfect simple centerpiece when placed in this vintage Ironstone bowl 🙂

Shop Small!

This adorable hand embroidered pillow is the perfect neutral festive accent here on our sofa. It’s from my sweet friend Rosana’s Etsy shop Nest of Petals. Especially around the holidays I try to support small businesses and her shop is one of my absolute favs!

Cozy Candles

Candles were an important part of our holiday decor and will be sticking around through the winter. Nothing cozies up a space like candlelight. These candles were super budget friendly and made a huge impact. I’ll be sharing an article on our media cabinets candles and old windows soon to give ya a closer view!

Real Trees

If you missed my article on our decision to start the tradition of having real Christmas trees you can check it out HERE. But I will tell you they have brought so much joy this holiday season and I explain why in that article 🙂

Tree Decorations

I decided to keep our tree decorations minimal and just enjoy the natural beauty of the trees themselves. It feels just right in our home. I simply added some lights and these darling jingle bells from Target, which also tie in really well with our brass candlesticks on our holiday tablescape.

Neutral Stockings and Another Tradition

I love these vintage looking neutral stockings! They’re also from a small shop The Vintage Bucket 🙂 Every year Ed and I get each other stocking stuffers and a Christmas Eve box with pjs, a movie, and snacks. It’s one of my favorite traditions and it also keeps Christmas less stressful and more about spending time together.

I hope you’re enjoying and savoring this holiday season as much as we are! It goes by so quickly and it was nice to intentionally slow things down in the decorating department this year. Another thing that has been important to me to use our holiday decor budget to make purchases that we can enjoy long after the holidays and for years to come.

Our cozy neutral Christmas living room feels warm and welcoming and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.

Merry Christmas dear friend!

Ps. Like I mentioned above I’ll be sharing all about our media cupboard’s decor AND our new living room rug and coffee table, which you may have noticed, soon! 😉
