Easy Summer Styling Home Tour
Hey there!
If you’re coming from my buddy Sarah’s home at www.graceinmyspace.com then welcome, welcome, welcome! I’m sure you’re already full of new styling ideas, but hang on there’s lots more to come on this easy summer styling home tour!
I’m so excited to be collaborating with these AMAZING women to bring you all kinds of summer inspiration! My good buddy Kelly from www.thetatteredpew.com put this whole thing together and I’m so very grateful to be a part of it! Thanks Kelly, you’re amazing!
For my leg of this tour I’ve decided to share our dining area and our living room BUT this is just part 1 for me because next week I’ll be sharing some outside spaces we’ve got styled and ready for summer too!

Dining Room
Let’s get this tour started in the dining area! You know I like to keep it pretty simple, but I definitely never feel that simple has to mean less beautiful or impactful. Quite the opposite in fact 🙂 Plus let’s face it summer is a lifestyle that is busy, bustling, and on the go, so keeping it simple and easy just makes sense 😉
When deciding what direction I wanted to take my decor this season I made a list of all things summer. Then narrowed it down to some of my favorites which are flowers, lemonade, and of course the 4th of July! So that’s what I went with and I love the combo!
Putting the Tablescape Together
I already had the white pitchers and just borrowed them from my open shelves (I linked some similar ones for ya below). After getting the pitchers into place I added some fresh baby’s breath that I picked up at the grocery store. It’s one of my favs flowers to buy because it lasts forever! After that I added in the flags. You can find the link for the exact flags as well as the faux lemons I sprinkled around, below too 😉

Berry Happy About Summer
Okay that was just corny! Lol! But I may be a little corny and I think I’m okay with that! Anyway, I wanted to do a simple table setting as well. These are our everyday dishes and they’re from Target. The hand towels I picked up from IKEA for $.79 ea back before Christmas. Then I added some blueberries for color and texture and because yummm! And yes I started eating them promptly after this shoot took place haha!
Living Room
I hope you enjoyed the dining area! Now it’s on to the living room part of the easy summer styling home tour! The basket was a vintage find and those gorgeous hydrangeas are from Hobby Lobby. I also hung some faux drying flowers on the door and added some baby’s breath to the bookshelf. Â To balance those patriotic vibes in the space I hung a large American flag on one side and then placed a couple smaller flags as well as a muted flag pillow on the other.
You can find both of the smaller sized flags below 🙂
 Â
Some Sentimental Value
I was searching for a high quality American flag to display in this spot and having a hard time finding one. I wanted one that wasn’t polyester and printed. I was telling my Mom how I had ordered a couple that I was very disappointed with when she suggested I go look in her “flag box”. It made me laugh of course that she had a whole box of flags but I wasn’t really surprised. You see my Dad was a Marine and we always had flag flying outside. Also he was a bit of a pack rat! 😉 So wouldn’t you know that he held on to some beautiful flags, including the one hanging behind the chair 🙂 My Dad will be gone 11 years this August and his birthday was the Fourth of July. So you can understand why my mom would keep a whole box of flags and why this one adds so much value to the space.
And isn’t she a beaut? I love that it’s old and worn and those little patchwork starts sealed the deal! I felt it important to share this story with you because I believe that it’s stories like this that make a house a home 🙂
Pillow Talk
Alright, those pillows! I admit that I may have a pillow addiction, but who can even blame me! That United States patch work pillow and that sweet little muted fringy American flag pillow had me at “Buy with One Click”! Lol! Too stinkin cute right? Pillows are SUCH an easy way to whatever style and I love textiles with texture like these two!
The images below take ya straight to em!

On the Other Side
Now let’s turn around and check out the other side of the room and that big ol beautiful cupboard I shared with ya last week. You can read all about it and it’s purpose HERE if you missed it. I simply stuck a couple of the same flags I had used on the tablescape in a crock and she’s ready for summer!

Amanda,
Your dining and living room are so gorgeous for summer. I am loving the white backdrop with the splashes of yellow, blue and red…it’s all so happy and fresh. The flag of your dad’s hanging is so special, and quite beautiful. Thank you for sharing all of these tips and spaces. I walked away inspired by you my friend! -Brendt xoxo

Amanda your home looks just beautiful. I love how you used the pitchers as the centerpiece. I feel so inspired! But I think the icing on the cake is that flag. What an amazing memory to be able to hold on to. My dad was in the air force for 20 years and so things like that have a special place in my heart. Beautifully done my friend!

My goodness, Amanda, where do I start?! I love your Summer dining area … absolutely perfect centerpiece with the baby’s breath and flags tucked into your pitchers (not to mention your incredible chandelier)! Your parent’s American flag from the “flag box” was meant to be hanging in your home (Semper Fi)! I “need” those pillows, too! *Berry* happy to be on this blog hop with you! 😉
Amanda & Ed
“Berry” happy! Oh my! This may be the sweetest (and funniest) thing I read all day! 😉 Who doesn’t “need” more throw pillows?! Thank you so so much for those kind words! Can’t wait to check out your amazing home!
