Farmhouse Bedroom Design with The Home Depot
Hey there!
As we’re getting ready to shift our renovation focus back inside the farmhouse I thought I would share my farmhouse bedroom design with The Home Depot with y’all! I’m a very visual person so I like to create mood boards for inspiration. It’s a way to “see” how my ideas will come together and it’s get me really pumped about getting a project started!

Farmhouse Bedroom Before
Here are some photos of what our bedroom currently looks like. Our entire upstairs is wall to wall to ceiling original beadboard/shiplap! I also love the small windows that are found in every room upstairs and the transoms above the doors too! Those original architectural details were a huge selling point for us and I really want to highlight them!
Renovating/Restoring the Bedroom
So here’s the plan! Set’s start from the ground up!
The Floors
We’ve already removed the carpeting that was in this room to reveal these wood floors. I’ll be removing the staples (obviously ;)) and then sanding down the floors to a nice natural wood tone. Then we’ll add a quarter round molding back to the baseboards.
The Walls
I’ll have to repair a few holes in the walls that were made to pump in insulation. And I’m sure I’ll be using a lot o caulk to fill in around the windows, trim, and other big gaps. Then I can give the entire room a fresh coat of white paint! Purple’s not really my thing š I also will be stripping the door to reveal it’s natural beauty!
Ed will also be figuring our a better electrical solution for the entire upstairs. Currently there are outlet strips on the baseboards, which we don’t love.
Lighting
We’ll be replacing the light fixture. One tip I always give is if you have a limited budget paint and lighting give the most bang for you buck because they change the way everything else in the room looks! I’m planning to do flush mount schoolhouse lights throughout the upstairs.
The Design Plan with The Home Depot
The Home Depot has basically become like a home away from home for us! Lol! But did y’all know they have a huge selection of home decor and furnishings too? I started looking a went way down the rabbit hole of goodness! Lol!
Old and New
Of course I’ll be styling the room with a combination of old and new, but all of the products pictured below are from The Home Depot except the antique night stands, which I’m on the hunt for and may be a little project of their own. Typically this size and style of the ones you see pictured come from a vanity or dresser that has been deconstructed a bit š but we’ll see what I can track down! We’ll also have an antique ļæ¼chifferobe and wardrobe on the other side of the room.
Isn’t that amazing though! The Home Depot has REALLY stepped up their game! We literally can get everything we need for the entire renovation from them! So convenient! I’ll link the products below for ya!

Farmhouse Bedroom Design with The Home Depot
I can’t wait to get started on our farmhouse bedroom in the next couple of weeks! Honestly it will be so nice to use/live in more of the house! Lol! And it means that I can turn our current makeshift bedroom into an office for me which will be another game changer!
We also going to be making a couple changes in the kitchen and starting back on the staircase! We’re actually heading after some antique staircase parts this weekend! So many fun things to come friends!
I hope you’re having an awesome day! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!
