Farmhouse Living Room Chandelier

Hello there friend!

I’m excited to share our new farmhouse living room chandelier! I’m sure you’ve heard me say it before but the first two things I would change in a space to make the biggest impact would be paint and lighting. Well we painted this room so lighting came next!

The Perfect Farmhouse Living Room Chandelier

I wanted something that had an old world feel. I also wanted a fixture that had a real presence in the room. I actually researched light fixtures that would be time period correct for the farmhouse and rod iron seemed to be a close fit. I found several versions of this chandelier but this one had the size I was looking for with its 42 inch diameter.

A Little Modification

The only thing about it that wasn’t exactly what I had in mind were the black candle sleeves. To me they gave it more or a modern take on what would have originally looked authentically old “candles”. But since the chandelier was such a close fit and for a great price I decided to order it and find a way to modify it.

One option was to paint the black candle sleeves white or off white, but then I found the replacement sleeves pictured and linked below. Since they cost about what a can of spray paint would have I went this route and I love the result!

The chandelier really has the presence and old world feel of something you might have seen in the farmhouse originally. Plus I love the contrast and statement it makes in the living room without being too fussy! What do y’all think? Also if you missed the paint colors I chose for this room you can see them HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I appreciate it more than you know!
