Haven Conference Trip 2019
This past weekend I attended the Haven Conference and (despite getting food poisoning lol) it was incredible! If you aren’t familiar with Haven it’s an educational conference for all creatives; bloggers, influencers, photographers, makers, the list goes on. You can also read how my first time attending the event last year went HERE.

This Year was Different
This year felt very different from last. For one thing I was way more exited than nervous this time around. I was just looking forward to seeing and meeting so many of my blogger and instagram buddies! Also this year, having a better idea of what to expect, I went in with much more intentional purpose. My goal was to soak up as much information as possible, pitch to the brands that attend, and have fun!
I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert or an extrovert. It depends on my day or mood how people-y I feel lol but Haven can definitely feel overwhelming and my brain was on overload by Sunday. Also as I mentioned I got food poisoning from a restaurant the first night there, which put a damper on things! Bless my roommate for being a heavy sleeper (love you Melissa!) lol!
Biggest Takeaway from My Haven Conference 2019 Trip
It may sound cheesy but my biggest take away, and the one that is truly the most important, would be the connections I made with so many amazing women. My life wouldn’t be the same without them. They’re my colleagues, my biggest cheerleaders, and my dearest friends!
My second biggest takeaway from the Haven Conference trip 2019 would be that blogging is a business, and while it’s owned by a creative heart I’ll be remembering to keep my head on the business side and run it as such. I think the classes I attending while I was there reflect both. I went to a photography class (which was amazing), a media kit class (equally amazing), a blogging to business class (a-m-a-z-i-n-g), a business of blogging (totally different amazing info), and a Instagram class (if you guessed it was amazing you were right lol).
Tips for Those Attending the Haven Conference
- bring business cards
- pack an extra bag or leave room in yours for all the swag
- find your tribe but also remember to branch out
- talk to brands they want to work with you!
- wear what you feel comfortable in
- come find me so I can hug your neck
- lastly don’t eat the salmon tacos at the nearby Mexican restaurant lol!
