Holiday Tour 2017: the Living Room Part 1
Hello there friend!
I decided to start this tour in a room that has completely transformed in the last few months. My living room has truly been a vision come to life & I’m so grateful to share it with you this holiday season. I went from a very traditional Christmas style last year to a much simpler & toned down winter wonderland, inspired by flocked greenery & vintage farmhouse crocks. I hope you enjoy!
After beginning to write this article I realized it would be too much to squeeze into 1 post. Which is why in Part 1 will show y’all half of my living room & part 2 the other half π I’ll start on one side & work my way around stopping at what I’d consider the halfway spot.
This is the view from our front door. Something you can’t know from a photo is the fabulous smell of Christmas tree that hits ya when you walk in. I love to use scentsicles not just on my tree but I hide them throughout the house so every room smells amazing π
Greenery in the Room
These are the $10 flocked wreaths I’m obsessed with from Walmart! See the article on all my favorites & their links Β HERE. The flocked garland on the dresser is from Walmart too. The cute little tree in the basket is from the Target dollar spot. The fir tree branches coming out of the basket beside the sofa, and the snowy pine cone trees on the bookcase are from Michaels. Also the 3 trees in those darling little crocks are from Michaels too π
Texture & Textiles
You guys know I love a neutral palette with with lots of texture, & textiles really played a strong role in that design element for this room. The 3 middle pillows were what inspired the whole look this year π I found them on clearance at Home Goods when Ed & I were in TN a few weeks ago. Their patterns reminded me of snow π The blankets were a lucky find at the Nashville TN flea market, which by the way I highly recommend checking out if you get a chance. I bunched up a flour sack towel under the 3 crocks on the coffee table for some added texture there.
Vintage Finds
All the crocks in the room, the shutters, & the window were local vintage finds & that chippy old door came from my parents old farmhouse.
Part 2 Coming Soon
And that’s where I’m gonna endΒ Holiday Tour 2017: the Living Room Part 1 π I hope I inspired ya just a little bit even in some small way or at least made you look forward to decorating for the holidays this year! I’d love to answer any questions you might have! Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog today! Happy holidays!
XOXO,
