Inspiration for Creating Outdoor Living Spaces

Hi there!

It’s my favorite time of the year because we love spending time outdoors! Country living just calls for being outside, but no matter if you have acres or a balcony patio I think spending time outside is good for the soul! So I wanted to share some inspiration for creating outdoor living spaces with ya! All products are linked at the bottom!

A Backyard Living Room

One area I look forward to creating in our backyard is an outdoor living room. I really want all our outdoor spaces to feel cohesive with our indoor ones.

Furniture

A great way to achieve this is by choosing similar styles of furnishings. When I came across this gorgeous outdoor sofa and chair from Bayou Breeze on Wayfair my jaw hit the floor! Who knew they made outdoor furniture this beautiful!! I love the antique feel and that it doesn’t have the traditional outdoor furniture look to it!

Pairing farmhouse and french country style in our home is my favorite! I would bring this juxtaposition to this outdoor space by adding a more primitive straight lined “wooden” coffee table fire pit next to the curvy lines of the seating.

Accessories

Another way to tie the outside in is to bring similar textiles and textiles patterns. Y’all know I love stripes! So I love the idea of adding some ticking striped throw pillows, and some cozy blankets. An outdoor jute rug really defines the area and brings the space together.

A Backyard Dining Area

We have plans to add a wrap around patio to the farmhouse one day and I can’t wait to create an outdoor dining area there! And I would love to have a pergola over it with fragrant climbing flowering vines…sigh 😉 But for now I can dream about what I would like that space to look like! 😉

Furniture

I would like a warm toned wooden table and found the perfect one pictured below! I also absolutely love these white cross back outdoor chairs! They come in several other color options too!

Accessories

Bug control is important, especially when dining outdoors in the spring and summer. So when I found these Tiki torches that have that same X pattern as the chairs I knew they would compliment the space as well as help keep the bugs at bay. For simple table decor I would again bring in some striped textiles with a sweet table runner.

Planters are also a great way to define a space or create barriers outdoors. I like the cool natural feeling of the ones pictured below. Finally I would incorporate lots of string lights because is there anything more magical than sharing a meal under lots of twinkle lights? 😉
