Lockers Offer Fun Storage in the Office/Guest Room
Hey there sweet friend!
Among other projects, mostly outdoor, I’ve decided to spend some time on our bedroom & in our office/guest room. I think it’s common for bedrooms to fall to the wayside when it comes to decorating simply because no one really sees them. Kitchens, baths, & living areas seem to take priority & this was no different in our home. So I thought I would make a conscious effort to turn that around over the next few months 🙂
It may seem crazy to you to have lots of projects going on at once but I’ve found I actually enjoy it. I like to dabble here & there lol! Ed says it’s decorating ADD, but it keeps me from getting bored or frustrated. Now you remember our house is small, like really small, so it’s important & down right essential that rooms be organized & sometimes serve multiple functions. This is obviously true of our office/guest room.
This room was in short supply of storage, but again the space we have is limited. I personally like everything to be able to be stashed away out of sight. Let’s face it office supplies aren’t exactly pretty to look at ha! I shared with you in a previous post a small hutch I found & painted, but I just didn’t love it in there. I felt it still stuck out too far into the room. Then one day I knew exactly what I wanted for that spot, lockers! I hunted for a while for the perfect size & overall look I wanted & then while doing the vendor festival I spotted some that I thought would be just right! I was so excited! But let me just tell ya these things weren’t light but so worth it! Lol!
You can see the lockers are far from perfect but of course that doesn’t bother me a bit! It’s all part of their character! They were a perfect fit for the space. They are only 15 inches deep so they don’t stick way out into the room & they’re short enough that the door can swing all the way open too. The thing I was the most drawn to was their color. I love that old green! They definitely serve as awesome storage! Each one is a designated place for different things such as office supplies, art & crafts, yoga mats, photos, & more 🙂 Plus I think it will be fun for our guests to be able to have a locker to put their stuff in when they stay over!
I love that the lockers add so much functional storage, but that they are also a unique feature in the room! Who says storage can’t be beautiful?!
For me summer feels like the perfect time to organize & simplify in our homes & everyday life as well! I hope you’re having an amazing summer & having fun tackling your own projects too!
XOXO
