Painting with Behr Dynasty Interior Paint
Hey hey!
Sooo guess what?! Well if you follow me on socials then you already know since I had to share there first, BUT I got to work with Behr and The Home Depot on our dining room painting with Behr Dynasty Interior paint!!! I mean someone pinch me!! This is an absolute dream collaboration! Once I found Behr I haven’t gone back! Our entire upstairs is Behr, the kitchen is Behr and now so is this room!
Painting Again
This room will serve as the living room for a bit until the living room is complete and then it will be the dining room, which is what it was originally. Although I will say we are enjoying it as a living room SO much because of the views! It overlooks the garden and the pasture and those sunsets aren’t too shabby either 😉
I painted it this dark color, but it reads really green in the afternoon sun and I don’t personally love it. Since I decided to try again on the walls I went ahead and sprayed the ceiling and wainscoting first. The ceiling was a glossy white and I prefer a matte finish.
Behr Dynasty Paint Rules!
Let’s get into the paint details because I’m not a gatekeeper when it comes to game changing products and this is one of them for sure! Whether you’re like me and are painting your way through your home or you just have a room you’d like to freshen up I highly recommend Behr Dynasty Interior paint!
I enjoy painting, but usually about halfway into the second coat, and realizing there will be at least a touch up third, I’m kinda over it lol! Since that was my experience painting this room before and with color being so dark I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I was able to paint this entire room with one coat and one gallon of paint!! How amazing is that?! This formula is unmatched as far as coverage goes and that means that you save so much time, which I really really appreciate!
Behr Paint Color and Paint Supplies
I really missed the bright airy feeling of a lighter color so I chose Blank Canvas DC-003. It’s the perfect creamy neutral white, and wait till you see it with our reclaimed flooring!
I’ve painted A LOT at this point lol so I’ll link some of my favorite paint supplies below!
- Brown paper to protect the flooring
- Favorite paint brush
- Paint roller handle
- Microfiber paint roller

Blank Canvas Reveal
It turned out so beautifully! It’s very close to the first color I painted in here, which is funny to me! But I’m still glad I experimented with a darker color because I genuinely wanted to see what it would look like. I think that’s the beauty of paint. Paint is an element that can change the feel of an entire room and everything in it all on its own. Now that I’ve discovered I can paint a room with one coat you can expect lots of paint experiments from me lol!
This room feels airy and cheerful. The lighter color makes it feel bigger too. In this home I’m striving to keep the focus on the architectural details as well as the country views and I think lighter colors really serve those purposes well.
Painting with Behr Dynasty Interior Paint
There was a time not so long ago when I remember praying for a chance to work with Home Depot and no matter how many times it happens I am incredibly grateful. As a DIYer I’m at Home Depot weekly. I love that they work with people like me, and encourage everyone to not be afraid tackle projects in your home no matter how big or small. Painting with Behr is a great place to start and with their Dynasty line it’s easy to paint it till you love it! So I want to give a huge shout out and thank to them both!
And of course thank you, I wouldn’t be here without ya!

I love the color you choose it is bright and keeps things airy. We discovered Behr paint when we purchased our new to us 1940 bungalow 2 years ago and haven’t used any other paint we love it.

Beautiful shade of white! I love the color and having the room light and bright just seems to fit the rest of the home more than a darker color. Great job….your hard work paid off!
