Sunroom Plants and Projects

Hi there!

If I had to pick a favorite room in our home it would be our sunroom by a landslide! So I thought I’d share some I’m a seeker of natural light and this room is full of it! And I already have big plans to recreate this space in the farmhouse! Leave it to me to design a house before it’s even ours ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you missed it were in the process of purchasing a farmhouse! You can see the tour of it HERE!

Sunroom Plants and Projects

We enjoy the sunroom year round, but it truly comes to life in the springtime. It doesn’t hurt that the view outside is all kinds of green! But I also love to have lots of plants inside too! All the green just makes me happy ๐Ÿ™‚ So I thought I would share some plant inspo and care tips with y’all as well as just sharing a place that fills my cup.

On the Table

This antique table was a marketplace find (see how I shop the Facebook Marketplace HERE) that I chalk painted (see that article HERE).

Angel Vine

In the vintage basket on it’s center the angel vine is overflowing and I love it! Angel vine is one of my absolute favorites! There is also a myrtle boxwood topiary in the center of its pot.

Smell Good Plants!

Then beside it is a lavender plant from our local greenhouse. A rosemary ring is in the front. Basically this area smells wonderful, which is a huge perk of these plants!

Ps. The plant in the crock is faux and from IKEA ๐Ÿ˜‰

Chippy Table and Windowsill Plants

I have this little chippy table styled like a mini potting bench which is perfect for the season! The plants on this table from left to right are pothos plant start in the windowsill, angel vine, cedar topiary (from Lowes), boxwood, an angel vine ring, a rosemary topiary in the windowsill. And then further on the windowsill are 2 variations of lavender topiaries. Most of my plants came from a greenhouse in Michigan and I’ve had several for over a year.

Sunroom Projects

I love that everything in the sunroom is neutral and crisp and bright and cheerful! Even though it was in rough shape when we bought the house it had good bones!

Original Features

All the beadboard in the sunroom is original and I love that it’s horizontal! The only thing I did was give a fresh coat of plain ol premixed white off the shelf!

DIY Projects

The built in benches were an easy DIY and give us some much needed storage back here! You can find those details HERE!ย Another one of my favorite part of this room is the painted floor! You can see this project and exact paint I used HERE! I also painted the green door you see in the first pic the same color as our front door! Check it out HERE!

More Projects to Share!

I’ll be sharing on how we replaced these windows ourselves soon! Stay tuned!

Plant Care Tips

Now I’m by no means an expert. I’m still working on my green thumb! This is just what I do for the plants that we have!

  1. First, I try to water my plants every other day. I give them a healthy drink of water based on their size.
  2. Then every 2 weeks, as the instructions say, I feed them the plant food pictured below, which I purchased at Lowe’s. I do every other Sunday.
  3. And then finally, every 2-3 days I mist them using this plant mister. I could really tell a difference in how healthy they looked once I started using it regularly!

It may seem like a lot of work but it’s 100% worth it! It’s so rewarding seeing them grow aka not die lol! I’m hooked! I think I’ll be a plant lady for life!

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the neutral sunroom in spring! It’s my happy place for sure! The sunroom is where I drink my coffee and often times blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have a favorite room in your home? Are you a plant lady too? What’s your favorite plant?
