Flooring Progress

We started working on the kitchen last weekend. We spent almost full day removing the base cabinets and moving appliances. The cabinets were attached to each other and the walls with screws, staples, and nails. Basically if a tornado took the house the cabinets would still be in place lol! We had to laugh because the things we spend the most time on are never those we see coming!

We also discovered that there were many types of flooring in the kitchen to remove. They were all installed by the previous owner. There was the top linoleum, which was nightmare to remove. Then under it there’s the same wood flooring that’s in the living room. But it’s only laid a couple feet wide around the parameter of the room. Then in the center of the room there’s green tile. On top of it is floor leveler and under it is thin plywood.

There’s also some areas that have plywood patched in two layers deep and were assuming it’s because there was water damage at some point. Removing the flooring is a huge undertaking in and of itself. Fingers crossed we can get the rest out this weekend. I’ll go into more detail about the flooring next week, but I am definitely ready to have my kitchen back!

Farm Babes

The sheep are loving this cooler weather! They’ve been choosing to sleep outside often during the day and have decided they like that white fluffy stuff 😉 Their wool is so thick now! They’ll be sheared for the first time this spring. I have a shearer lined up to come between March and April.

Pup-date

Samatha has been so sweet to send pictures or videos almost daily so we get to watch them grow. And my goodness they are growing! They’re now just over 2 weeks old and just got their eyes open. We’ll be going to meet them and pick out our little guy in just a couple weeks!

Barn Cats

Oh and then there’s Archie! Lol! Our “barn cats” come inside for a bit almost daily for some cozy snuggles. I’m hoping to add some more kittens to the farm soon too!
