Victorian Farmhouse Office

Hey there!

It’s the busiest time of the year for us here on the farm but I managed to squeeze in a few small projects! One of them was claiming the former guest room as our office. I gave it a little refresh with some beautiful wallpaper and paint. Then I used furniture and decor we had on hand to make it functional until hunt down the specific pieces I have in mind for the room. So this is the start of our Victorian farmhouse office!

Office Paint

I’ve been looking for a pretty white to replace a lot of the Ultra Pure White paint in the farmhouse and thought the office would be a good place to try one out in. When we first started renovating I chose a bright true white because it was easy and acted like a blank canvas back drop. I needed time to get some of the house itself done to start to get a feel for where I wanted to go with the color palette and decor.

Now we’re finally at a place, about halfway through the interior renovation, where I’m circling back and spending a little more time bringing each room to life. White Stone is from the Behr paint designers collection at the Home Depot. It’s comparable to Alabaster, and it had the right tone and creaminess I was looking for. I painted all the trim, the beadboard walls and ceiling, and the door White Stone in a matte finish. I definitely love the color and feel like it will help cozy up some other rooms in our home soon too! 😉

Flowering Pear Wallpaper

I actually built this wall and created this upstairs bedroom with a walk in closet. This space was originally an open loft area. Now it’s much more functional for us.

You can see what it looked like before I built the wall and how it did it HERE!

After building it I decided to drywall and wallpaper this side of the wall since the entirety of the upstairs is beadboard.  I’d never removed wallpaper that I had installed myself until this. And let me tell ya I did a really good job lol! Kidding but is wallpaper removal anyones favorite thing? Probably not. I did find some tools to make the job easy though so I’ll link those below for ya! And then holy cow was it worth it!

There was nothing wrong with the first wallpaper I chose, but this Flowering Pear print was MADE for a room that overlooks our garden! I also love the sketched look of the design. It’s from Anewall who were kind enough to let me choose a custom taupe color. The wallpaper mural in our kitchen is also from them so I feel I can say they offer some beautiful options and the quality is awesome!

Victorian Office Decor and Furniture

As I had mentioned, most of the things in the office were pulled from other rooms because I have some very specific ideas in mind that will be collected over time, and I wasn’t waiting to start using this beautiful room 😉 However, one thing I had already found for the room that is staying is the primitive plantation style desk! But I’ll update photos as I find and build the rest of the treasures for in here.
