Farmhouse Projects
Currently we have a couple of renovation projects going on! I’ve been working on a bedroom upstairs during the week and on the weekends Ed and I have been working on the staircase renovation!
I’ll be sharing an update of each project later this week and below are a couple pictures from last week and weekend’s progress!
If you missed it you can find more details on our bedroom renovation HERE!
And all the details on our staircase renovation HERE!
Egg-citing!
In other very exciting news our hens have started laying!!! Last week I noticed one of them making a lot of very loud clucking noises and remembered that’s what our chickens would do growing up!
So I set some faux wooden eggs, like the on pictured below in the nesting boxes and before I could even get straw put in there the hens where very curious about this situation! Lol! The next morning I found 3 eggs! Coolest thing ever and nothing better than farm fresh eggs!
What’s Coming Up Here at the Farm
This week I’m continuing to work on the staircase a bit. Sealing and painting the risers and treads as well as the staircase molding. Then I’ll be turning my attention back to the bedroom! I can’t wait to see the progress on both projects this week!
I’ll also be rounding up some of my Fall decor favorites to share with ya late this week!
This Weekend at the Farm
This weekend we also have some people coming to clean up a bit in the outbuildings! I’m so excited about this! We’ll be bringing in a dumpster soon too! Yay for getting rid of junk! Especially when it’s not your junk! Lol! We’re also planning on attending a animal swap meet this weekend! I’ll be sure and take pics, especially if we bring anyone home! 😉
Which reminds me! We are officially going to be welcoming 2 more ewes to our flock next spring! Yay for more of these precious farm babies!

Hey Amanda I was wondering if you all found any termites in your farmhouse & other bldgs on your property? We are getting ready to move ourselves out to the country & purchase an older home. We’ve just gone thru a termite problem & don’t want to go thru that again. Any advice?? And YAY on the eggs!! I love your chickens!!!
Amanda
We haven’t had that issue (knock on wood). There is definitely some past wood damage in the outbuildings from bugs/termites but we do have things sprayed regularly.
